      This is a brand new machine. It’s got less than three or four hours on welding. How can the liner be worn out? How can the gun be worn out? How can anything be worn out on this? I mean, I bought the cheapest harbor freight welder they had and that thing five or six years old and it never gave me this type of problems. I’m kicking myself for giving it to the neighbor ever since I got this new 200 amp big our captains a piece of shit. I had the little cheap 90 amp Harbor freight special and that thing just welds it doesn’t quit. You can have the thing tied up and a coil and figure 8 and the fucking thing will feed Wire and you could run it and run it and weld and weld and weld that doesn’t shut off this one hasn’t shut off, but I’m just saying that that cheap machine under 100 bucks was a weld and son of a bitch never changed the liner in five years never changed the gun in five years. You’re telling me after three hours. I gotta replace the shit on this one already shit

      This thing is bound up like six times and I’ve adjusted the tension. I’ve adjusted everything I’ve got the right neural roller. I mean, I could set the tension on that other sheet machine no problem I mean, I don’t. I’m not having a problem. I’ve I’ve tried detention several different ways and it keeps. I don’t know how to explain it. It’s just right where it goes into the little I guess the liner that the start of the liner the start of just after the rollers it goes into the feed right there it it binds up and it. It breaks off right there and then if you keep squeezing the trigger it just spools up the wire inside there if you don’t realize it and then you gotta stop pull the old wire out of their straighten that stuff out. Repeat it you squeeze the trigger and well, maybe six or eight times and bam it does it again so it’s just getting aggravating that I’m burning up a shit load of wire keep re-feeding this thing and keep re-feeding it and re-redoing it I mean either the liners in this particular gun or model are they that crappy I mean, I drove that other one around for five years and never had an issue with it. I ain’t even had this one out I mean, I just don’t I don’t I don’t get it. I thought I was gonna be all happy with this machine. I gave away the other one to my neighbor thinking now it’s all good here you can have this cause I got this nice machine. What a dumbass I was should’ve gave him this piece of shit and kept the other one.

        A new gun liner usually should not be worn out after only a few hours. When wire bird-nests right as it enters the liner, the first things I would check are drive-roll size/groove, wire spool drag, tip size, and whether the gun lead is staying as straight as possible while feeding. Moisture or a kinked lead can add drag too. If the machine is new, it is worth checking the exact model, wire size, and gun setup with Weld Support Parts or the machine seller before replacing parts at random.

      I don’t know I’m guessing maybe that it could be a kinked torch lead or something or a line or bad or something but I coil up the gun and the wire not the wire but you know the hose or whatever loosely you know I keep it a loose circle. I take the ground off every time and I put that in the box but I leave the gun connected, but I keep it in a circle set up nice and loose you know not a tight circle or anything like that maybe 22 circles you know two rotate is probably 3 foot round circle but now I did leave it out one one evening in the shed and it gets real Dewey here in the evenings that you know in the middle of the night it gets Dewey. You know a lot of moisture humidity maybe that has something to do with it but I mean geez I left that other welder out for days on end. I’d cover it up in a raincoat and let it sit outside and never had a problem with the wire or the feeding or anything the neighbor still using it and I thought that this stuff would be better better you know better gun better everything I thought it would be I mean again I bought the cheapest one to start with you know 56 years ago and now I got pretty good and that’s why I wanted to upgrade get a little more power run 220 cause I’m I’m welding bigger stuff and this has been very disappointing to say the least. I’ve got all my settings right I’ll go by the book and do most of my settings and again I’ve tried adjusting detention and all that several different ways thinking OK this is it or that’s it you know and I thought I would get it so I could keep welding and keep working and instead of messing around, but no no I’m still sitting here gotta go redo the wire again so I’m just gonna keep trying things here I’m about to run through this spool of wire though and I’ve got a brand new spool we’ll see if that does any different but I mean, dammit I’ve wasted a third of this at least out of a 10 pound roll and this one’s got the little tit on the inside when you put the roll on the guy whatever you call that you’ve gotta make sure the role the little circle is the tit is inside the circle and that that’s all correct and you can only tighten the screw on cap. You can only tighten it so tight. It’s like a self setting deal you can’t over tighten it because it’s just a set. It’s either screwed down all the way or it’s not there is not like my that cheap welder ahead. Yeah, you could keep cranking that down. It would be spring loaded. You could keep cranking on that one but this one you can’t you just gotta tighten it and it stops on its own and everything is preset except for you know the one that you put down on your rollers now that one is you got that one self tension but I’ve adjusted that one several times and as I’m aggravated this is the first place I’ve reached out for help since it’s been doing it to me now this is like the eighth or ninth time I can’t seem to figure it out so I’ve tried to come somewhere here hopefully where I can get some answers and to get this thing straightened out, but I guess we’re gonna find out keeps it up. I might just have to go to stick welding. It’s a six in one machine, but the stuff I’m welding is in stick material. Everything is pretty thin right now anyways I gotta hurry up and try to get this thing fixed. Get these tail lights in this truck bed. I’m working on a 8 foot wide 11 foot long custom flatbed on a 89 Ford F super duty big truck 10 lug hubs a Dana 80 rear end. so with all that said, I’ve been looking at everything the possibilities here and I’m I’m gonna try to keep an eye on these types of things here and see if anything jumps out at me here but I don’t even see like you know a kink in the line or the hose you know like where it’s been closed tinter you know smashed. I don’t see any of that if you step on it will will it ruin it by stepping on it and who knows maybe the cheap welder only had a 6 foot lead this one’s 10, so maybe I’m having a little issue because it’s longer than what I’m used to. I mean I don’t know I try to keep it straight. I’m not an idiot. You know what I mean and I know better that it’s obviously better if it’s straight, I’m creeping up on 60 years old. I got some common sense. I’m no master welder by no means but I can set a machine up and generally run it and maybe have an issue or two in the beginning but get that straightened out and I’m on my way. The other thing is the other gun that I had it wasn’t gas. This one is gas or fluxcore I don’t use the gas. I’m outside constantly. I am not. I don’t have a shop so I’m wondering if something with the gas part of this gun and whatever is causing this issue more so than anything else but in the settings, I’ve got it on flux cord. It’s not on the gas mode. I’ve got everything hooked up right as far as the grounds and everything like that it’s stick world’s beautiful. I will say that I’m working on a big smoker and I’m stick welding. A lot of that cause it’s thicker bigger material and it’s beautiful. It works awesome but on this truck bad a lot of the stuff is thinner I can I can use the wire while there is perfect should be but anyway I do appreciate any any help in any information that’s for sure. Sorry for the cursing. I was a superintendent for 25 years so I kind of got that just can’t kick it but anyways I do appreciate any help in any advice. Sorry for the lengthy response here. I’m just trying to make sure I’m giving y’all all the information I can give you that will help me. Thanks again.
