    Can you tell me what domestic (US) test method Weldas used to define this jacket as FR? The Weldas website sites a standard from Europe dated 2015 that is not current. (current EN11611 standard is from 2024, EN11611:2024, a flawed test method) according to EN11611 9oz cotton is a safer material for welding then heavy split cowhide or grain leather.

      According to the test report, the jacket’s fabric meets the performance requirements of ASTM F1506 after 25 laundering cycles—specifically, 0.0 seconds afterflame and acceptable char length. However, after 50 wash cycles, the material fails to meet the F1506 standard due to elevated afterflame times (5.5-second average, exceeding the 2.0-second limit set by F1506).

      It’s worth noting that while EN 11611 focuses on protection from welding spatter, flame spread (A1/A2), and radiant heat, ASTM F1506 is centered around arc-flash and vertical flame resistance.
